🔥🌿 Help Prevent Wildfires This Summer

With dry weather and higher temperatures, the risk of wildfires increases significantly. Grass, woodland, heathland, and open countryside can ignite quickly, putting lives, wildlife, and property at risk.

Protect Our Countryside:

🚫 Do not light BBQs in parks, open countryside, woodlands, or other rural areas unless in designated locations.

🚫 Never light campfires or disposable BBQs on grassland, moorland, woodland, or near dry vegetation.

🚬 Dispose of cigarettes and smoking materials responsibly. Never throw them from vehicles or onto the ground.

🗑️ Take litter home with you. Glass bottles and discarded rubbish can increase fire risks.

🚗 Do not park vehicles on dry grass, as hot exhaust systems and catalytic converters can start fires.

🔥 Avoid using open flames, fireworks, or sky lanterns in the countryside during dry conditions.

👀 Report signs of fire immediately and do not assume someone else has already called.

If You Discover a Fire:

✅ Move to a safe location.

✅ Call 999 immediately and ask for Fire and Rescue Service.

✅ Provide as much information as possible about the location.

❌ Do not attempt to tackle large outdoor fires yourself.

Wildfires can spread rapidly and cause extensive damage. A small spark can have devastating consequences.
