🚔 Harassment and Stalking: Know the Signs and Get Support
Harassment and stalking can have a significant impact on a person's safety, wellbeing, and daily life. If you, or someone you know, is experiencing unwanted or repeated behaviour that causes fear, alarm, or distress, it is important to seek help and report it.
Examples of Harassment or Stalking Include: 📱 Repeated unwanted calls, texts, emails, or messages. 👀 Being followed, watched, or monitored. 🏠 Unwanted visits to your home, workplace, or other locations. 🌐 Persistent contact through social media or online platforms. 🎁 Unwanted gifts, letters, or messages. 🚗 Damage to property or interference with vehicles.
How to Protect Yourself: ✅ Trust your instincts. If someone's behaviour makes you feel uncomfortable or frightened, take it seriously. ✅ Tell someone you trust about what is happening. ✅ Keep a record of incidents, including dates, times, locations, screenshots, and photographs where appropriate. ✅ Review privacy settings on social media and limit the amount of personal information shared online. ✅ Consider varying regular routines if you believe someone is monitoring your movements. ✅ Report concerns to the police, even if you are unsure whether an offence has been committed.
If You Are in Immediate Danger: 📞 Call 999 immediately. For non-emergency reporting, contact 101 or report online.
Nobody should have to live in fear of harassment or stalking. Reporting concerns can help protect you and prevent further offending.
