SMART ALERT | Section 34 Dispersal Notice Authorised for Codsall and Bilbrook

Staffordshire Police has authorised a Section 34 Dispersal Notice covering Codsall and Bilbrook following an increase in reports of anti-social behaviour (ASB) within the area.

The dispersal notice will be in force from:

📅 6:00pm on Friday 14 August
until
📅 6:00pm on Sunday 16 August

This additional policing power has been introduced to help prevent further incidents of anti-social behaviour, reduce disruption to local communities, and provide reassurance to residents.

What is a Section 34 Dispersal Notice?

Under Section 34 of the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, police officers have the power to direct individuals to leave a designated area if their behaviour is causing, or is likely to cause, harassment, alarm, distress, crime, or disorder.

The dispersal power allows officers to: • Require individuals or groups involved in anti-social behaviour to leave the area.
• Prevent individuals from returning to the designated area for up to 48 hours.
• Seize items linked to anti-social behaviour where appropriate.
• Take further enforcement action against anyone who fails to comply with a dispersal direction.
