Back to School - Park Safe, Keep Children Safe 🚸

With children heading back to school, we'd like to remind everyone to take extra care around schools during drop-off and pick-up times.

We know mornings can be a rush, but please remember that the unofficial competition for the "Closest Parking Space to the School Gates" doesn't actually exist! 😄

To help keep everyone safe, please:

✅ Park legally and considerately
✅ Keep clear of zig-zag markings and school keep clear areas
✅ Avoid blocking driveways, junctions and pavements
✅ Do not double park or stop in the middle of the road
✅ Allow extra time for your journey
✅ Consider parking a little further away and walking the last part of the journey

Children can be unpredictable near roads, especially when excited to see friends after the holidays. Poor parking can block visibility and put children, parents and other road users at risk.

Officers will be conducting patrols around local schools and enforcement action may be taken where offences are identified.

Let's work together to make sure every child arrives at school safely and gets home safely too.
