FRIDAY β VAN AND TOOL SECURITY π§π - CRIME PREVENTION |
||
|
Your van may be part of your livelihood β and criminals know that tools stored inside can be valuable. If you use a van for work: π Always lock it, including during short stops. π§° Wherever possible, remove tools and valuable equipment overnight. π If equipment has to remain inside, consider a security-rated lockable cabinet or secure internal storage system. βοΈ Clearly property-mark tools with identifying details or an appropriate property-marking system. πΈ Photograph valuable tools and equipment and keep a record of serial numbers. π Donβt leave anything visible that suggests expensive tools are inside. π‘ Park in a well-lit and busy area whenever possible. πͺ Consider additional security for the vehicleβs doors together with alarms, immobilisers or tracking systems appropriate for your vehicle. Removing tools from a van may take a few extra minutes at the end of the day β replacing an entire set of tools can take considerably longer. Tools are your livelihood β donβt make them an easy target.
