#SuicidePrevention | On Saturday 3 October 2026, the Harvey family, alongside friends and members of our community, will once again be hosting Kai's Memory Miles in Rugeley. This special event aims to raise awareness of the vital conversation surrounding suicide prevention while honouring the memory of Kai Harvey.
Kai was a much-loved son, brother and grandson who tragically lost his life in 2020 at just 17 years of age. Through this annual walk, his family hope to keep his memory alive, encourage open conversations about mental health, and help others who may be struggling.
📍 Participants are invited to gather at the Mindfulness Garden, Brook Square, Rugeley, from 10:00am, with the walk setting off at 11:00am.
🌳 The walk will start and finish at the Mindfulness Garden and will follow a new, more public route this year, which is currently being finalised.
🤝 Representatives from @Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide - SOBS and @Andys Man Club Lichfield will be present at the garden and along the route, providing support and a listening ear to anyone who would like to talk.
👮♂️ Your local policing team will also be attending throughout the event and will be on hand to offer support, reassurance and assistance to anyone who may need it. We are proud to support this important community event and encourage anyone affected by suicide, directly or indirectly, to come along and be part of a supportive and understanding environment.
💬 This event provides a safe space for those who have experienced loss, as well as for anyone wishing to show solidarity and support. As the Harvey family describe it, it is a chance for those in "the club that nobody wants to belong to" to come together, remember loved ones, and remind others that they are not alone.
👕 Participants are encouraged to wear memorial T-shirts or carry banners in honour of loved ones. If you would like a loved one's name added to the event banner, please get in touch with the organisers.
💙 Whether you have been personally affected by suicide, are supporting someone who has, or simply wish to help raise awareness, you are warmly invited to attend and walk with us.
📲 Please help us spread the word by liking and sharing this post.
