MAN CHARGED WITH ROBBERY

A man has been charged with robbery and weapon offences in Tamworth.

Ricky Cudworth, 42, of Tamworth, has been charged with robbery, attempted robbery, possessing an imitation firearm and possession of a knife in a public place.

It comes as part of our investigation into separate incidents in the area, including an attempted robbery at a business on Masefield Drive, Leyfields, on 25 July and a robbery at a newsagents in Stoneydelph on 26 August.

Cudworth appeared at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Saturday 19 September and has been remanded ahead of his next hearing due at Stafford Crown Court on 23 October.
