Sometimes it isn’t the vehicle itself a thief wants – it’s what has been left inside. Before leaving your vehicle, take a moment to look around the inside. 📱 Remove mobile phones and electronic devices. 👜 Never leave handbags, wallets, purses or bank cards in an unattended vehicle. 💻 Remove laptops, tablets and other valuable equipment. 🪙 Even small amounts of loose change can attract an opportunist thief. 🔌 Remove charging cables, sat-nav holders and other clues which suggest valuable electronic equipment may be stored inside. 📄 Don’t leave vehicle registration or insurance documents in the vehicle. 🧰 Secure anything carried externally in roof boxes, racks or tool storage and remove valuable contents whenever possible. 🔐 Consider fitting tamper-resistant screws to number plates and locking wheel nuts to alloy wheels. And remember – hiding something under a seat or covering it with a coat doesn’t necessarily mean a thief won’t look for it. The safest vehicle is an empty, locked vehicle.
