KEEP YOUR VEHICLE SAFE ๐๐ As part of our vehicle crime prevention, weโre reminding residents that a few simple precautions can make your vehicle much less attractive to thieves. โ Always lock your vehicle โ even if youโre only leaving it for a moment or itโs parked on your driveway. โ Close all windows and the sunroof before walking away. โ Check the vehicle has actually locked. Criminals can use technology designed to interfere with remote locking signals, so physically check the doors where possible. โ Keep vehicle keys and spare keys out of sight and away from doors, windows and letterboxes. โ If your vehicle has keyless entry, consider storing keys in a signal-blocking pouch and check periodically that the pouch is still effective. โ Consider additional visible security such as a steering-wheel lock, pedal lock or other security-rated device. โ Park in a well-lit, busy location whenever possible. Taking a few extra seconds to secure your vehicle could prevent you becoming a victim of crime. For further vehicle security advice, visit Police.uk and search โKeeping vehicles safe.โ If you see a crime taking place or there is an immediate risk, call 999. For non-emergency information or reporting, contact police online or via 101. #VehicleSecurity #CrimePrevention #VehicleCrime #MakingCommunitiesSafer
