With darker evenings arriving, remember to stay aware of your surroundings, especially when walking home or travelling alone. - Where possible stick to well-lit, familiar routes and keep valuables out of sight.
- If you're driving, take extra care around pedestrians, cyclists and children who can be harder to see in low light. Make sure your vehicle lights are working and give yourself plenty of time to react.
- At home, check that doors and windows are secure, outdoor lights are working and don't leave valuables on display.
As always, if something doesn't feel right, trust your instincts and report any concerns to Police, Via 101 or on 999 if in an emergency. A few small precautions can make a big difference. Stay safe and look out for one another this Autumn. |
