🌟🦇 An Illuminating Evening at Wolseley Centre, Rugeley! 🦋✨

PCSO Liz Hall and PCSO Sean Nicholls from the Rural and Wildlife Crime Team recently attended a fascinating Biofluorescence Evening at the Wolseley Centre Hub, hosted by Staffordshire Wildlife Trust and made possible through the generous support of the D'Oyly Carte Charitable Trust.

The evening began with an introduction to biofluorescence, explaining how certain plants, fungi and animals can glow under UV light. We then took part in a guided walk around the reserve, using specialist UV equipment to search for examples of this incredible natural phenomenon.

As Rural and Wildlife Crime Officers, opportunities such as this help us develop our understanding of local wildlife and habitats, strengthen our relationships with partner organisations, and enhance our knowledge of the natural environment that we work to protect.

It was a truly fascinating experience and a reminder of the remarkable wildlife that can be found right here in Staffordshire.
