PROTECT YOURESLF FROM ATM THEFT

Before using an ATM, take a moment to check your surroundings and inspect the machine for anything unusual.

Criminals may target cash machines by fitting devices designed to steal card details or PIN numbers. Always be alert and trust your instincts.

🔎 Signs an ATM May Have Been Tampered With

Look out for:

⚠️ Loose, damaged or unusual parts attached to the machine
⚠️ Anything that appears out of place around the card slot or keypad
⚠️ Hidden cameras or suspicious-looking devices nearby

If something doesn't look or feel right, do not use the machine. Contact the bank and report your concerns to the police.

👀 Stay Alert While Using an ATM

✅ Be aware of people standing close by
✅ Shield the keypad when entering your PIN
✅ Keep your card in sight at all times
✅ Ignore distractions from strangers attempting to engage you in conversation
✅ Put your card away immediately after completing your transaction

📱 Contactless Card Safety

Contactless cards offer convenience, but it's important to protect them too. Consider using an RFID-blocking wallet or card holder to help prevent unauthorised scanning of your card details.

📝 Check Your Accounts Regularly

Monitor your bank statements and transactions frequently. If you notice anything suspicious, contact your bank immediately.

Staying alert for just a few moments could help protect you from becoming a victim of fraud.
