Considerate and Safe Parking Reminder
We would like to remind all motorists to park safely, legally and considerately throughout our neighbourhood. We understand that many residential areas experience challenges with parking due to the increasing number of vehicles compared to available off-road parking and housing capacity. Whilst we appreciate these difficulties, drivers must ensure their vehicles are parked in accordance with the law and the guidance contained within the Highway Code. Parking on double yellow lines, close to junctions, near pedestrian crossings, outside schools, or across dropped kerbs can create significant hazards for other road users, pedestrians, cyclists, wheelchair users, people with pushchairs, and emergency vehicles. Please remember: Poor parking can force vulnerable pedestrians into the roadway, reduce visibility at key locations, and increase the risk of collisions. Where residents have concerns about illegal or inconsiderate parking, these should be reported to the local authority's Parking Enforcement Team where parking restrictions are in place. If residents wish to discuss existing parking restrictions, request a review of road markings, or raise concerns regarding the installation or absence of double yellow lines, they should contact the Highways Authority through the local council. By working together and parking responsibly, we can help keep our roads safe, accessible and welcoming for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation and support.
