Vehicle Crime spree in Tutbury

We are making residents aware of a spate of Vehicle Crimes that occurred in the early hours of this morning (06/11/2026) Offenders targeted several vehicles, causing damage and stealing items left inside. We are asking residents to remain vigilant and take a few simple steps to help protect their property. The crimes occurred around Redhill Lane and Holts Lane, Tutbury.

Crime Prevention Advice

Always remove valuables from your vehicle. Do not leave bags, wallets, tools, mobile phones, keys or other items on display.

Even low-value items can attract thieves, so ensure nothing is left visible inside your vehicle.

Lock your vehicle and double-check that windows, sunroofs and doors are secure.

If your vehicle uses keyless entry, store keys in a Faraday pouch or Faraday box when not in use. These help block signals used by criminals to steal vehicles.

If possible, park in a well-lit area covered by CCTV or security lighting.
