Leicestershire man sentenced for drugs offences in Tamworth.

A 39-year-old man from Leicester has been sentenced to four years and six months imprisonment over drug offences.

Following a stop-and-search on Collett, Glascote, Tamworth, on April 29 this year, Hassan Somobano, of Attingham Close, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A – crack cocaine, possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A – heroin, supply a controlled drug of class A - crack cocaine and supply a controlled drug of class A – heroin. A mobile phone and a quantity of cash was also seized by officers.

Somobano appeared at Stafford Crown Court on November 18 to be sentenced.

Detective Sergeant Jon Bradbury, of Staffordshire Police Disruption Team South, said: “We are delighted with the sentencing of Somobano for his involvement in the supply of drugs in Tamworth. We hope this serves as a warning to anyone else currently involved in similar activities, or perhaps thinking of becoming so.

"We will continue to pro-actively seek out and disrupt all drugs activity on the streets of Staffordshire in our attempts to make the communities we serve a better place to live."
