Properties being photographed - Birmingham Road - Shenstone

Alert message sent 13/04/2022 09:40:00

Information sent on behalf of Staffordshire Police

There has been concern in Shenstone over the past few weeks about properties being photographed by visitors to the village. This seems to have caused anxiety among some residents, which has been further expressed on social media platforms. Many of the people are seasonal workers on a local farm and are photographing the area and sending the pictures home to family members in Eastern European countries. I have visited the farm and made the owner aware of the tension in the village at the moment which will be communicated to the workers.

Any suspicious activity should be reported to Staffordshire Police formally so that a central police log is created. If there are no the police resources to attend in a timely manner, it is still important that the Police have a record of community concerns and can map occurrences, locations and times. This in turn will have an impact on the patrol strategy of local officers who respond to reports and incidents of a criminal or suspicious nature in an attempt to keep the communities safe and reassured. Thank you.
